The Hope

Set against the backdrop of a tribal village in Central rural India, the film narrates Malti’s story, a young healthcare worker. Despite opposition from her family and community to work, she is determined to make a difference in her community and prove herself. Malti embarks on a health mission to save the life of pregnant Kamla and her unborn child. Kamala’s fight for survival, and the struggle to overcome the superstitions is supported through the transformative power of unity and sisterhood. Three women join on a mission to save Kamala and her struggle against patriarchal norms and gender bias.
